Drain Cleaning, Repair & Replacement
The most common type of drain stoppages inside, are toilets, bathtubs, showers and kitchen sinks. Bathtubs and shower stoppages are usually caused by hair. These kinds of stoppages can usually be cleared by “snaking” with small equipment.
Toilets are normally very reliable except when too much paper is used or when children try to flush a small toy. Again “snaking” is usually the fix, but in some cases it is necessary to pull the toilet in order to remove the object.
Kitchen sink stoppages are most often caused by a grease build up. With normal use of the sink, this build up usually takes several years to occur. In cases where the grease build up is more severe we may need to use “hydro-jet” cleaning. This process involves running a hose with a specially designed head down the drain. The jetter pumps water through the hose to effectively pressure clean the inside of the drain. This process, although better than snaking, is more expensive but removes all the grease.
