Comparison of tank based water heaters and tankless heaters.

Tank based heaters are constantly using energy to heat and reheat water.  The tankless heaters heat just the amount of water needed and only when it is needed.  When a tank based heater is emptied, the water takes time to heat up again. The tankless provides constant hot water without the limited capacity of a tank.  The tankless is also much more efficient with an energy factor of between .82 and .98 for the life of the heater.  Tank based heaters have an energy factor of .58 to .67 efficiency for the first year, but, as the heater ages, efficiency declines giving an average energy factor of .58.  Tank based heaters are almost certain to leak over the course of their 8-12 year life span.  However, tankless water heaters last 20 to 25 years.  There are credits and rebates available up to $1500 for installing such an energy saving appliance.  The tankless water heaters are custom designed for your residential and commercial needs.
